Elon Musk, the owner of X/Twitter, remains eager for a real, physical cage fight with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg, while interested, expresses some skepticism.

In a Sunday post, Musk announced that the proposed fight with Zuckerberg would be livestreamed on X, with all proceeds intended for charity benefiting veterans. However, Musk did not specify the chosen charity, and it appears he didn’t consult his opponent before making the fundraising announcement public.

Zuckerberg raised a valid point on Meta’s X rival Threads, suggesting the use of a more reliable platform with built-in fundraising capabilities. He cites Facebook’s successful use of such functionality, where comedian Celeste Barber raised over A$51 million for Australia’s bushfires in 2020.

While X lacks specific fundraising tools beyond posts and links, the company has faced significant negative attention concerning its financial handling.

Addressing Musk’s last-minute fight preparation, Zuckerberg highlights his consistent training in jiu-jitsu and dedication to the sport. Despite Musk’s newfound weightlifting efforts, it’s doubtful they will match up to Zuckerberg’s seasoned skills.

Musk, displaying his characteristic self-confidence, shares a wrestling clip and declares his fighting style to be “going with @WWE.”

Musk’s aim is to build muscle quickly, but it generally takes several weeks to achieve noticeable results. If the proposed Aug. 26 cage match proceeds, Musk would have less than three weeks to get in shape.

However, the fight’s exact date remains uncertain due to Musk’s upcoming MRI for his neck and upper back, which might necessitate surgery.
